The actress Sarah Snook, who gained notoriety for her performance in Succession, has demanded that new rules governing the usage of artificial intelligence (AI) in movies be established. Snook stressed the need for clear regulations to protect not only the acting industry but other sectors amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA conflict, in which AI continues to be a major topic of contention.
Snook stated to the BBC that in order to tackle the unknown, it is critical to establish a precedence for the use of AI. She raised worries about deepfake technology, pointing to instances such as the suspicious Tom Cruise films and the possibility that businesses could use voice and picture manipulation for propaganda.
In support of the current strike against AI-related issues, Snook talked about how she took a vacation from work to deal with the fallout from Succession’s victory. Despite her break, Snook will return to the UK’s West End stage in 2019 to play every one of the 26 roles in The Picture of Dorian Gray, showcasing her versatility once again.

Snook expressed her misgivings about social media, acknowledging that it’s a “scary landscape” and reaffirming her modest involvement there. Snook laughed when asked if she missed playing her Succession character Shiv, saying that even while Shiv was enjoyable to portray, she was glad to put the character to rest and move on.
