Reality TV stars Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin, known for their appearance on Bachelor in Paradise, exchanged vows in a charming ceremony at Hacienda Don Carmelo in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, on Saturday. The couple, who got engaged during the season 7 finale of the dating reality series, chose the significant date of 11/11 for their special day.
Pepin, 27, shared that the date held particular importance, not only for its uniqueness but also as it coincided with Veterans Day, honoring her father’s 25 years of military service. The decision to have a destination wedding in Puerto Rico, where much of Pepin’s family resides, aimed to keep the celebration smaller, more manageable, and intimate.
The couple’s guest list included 65 attendees, featuring their beloved dogs, Dice and Monster, who sported tuxedos for the occasion. Braasch’s sister officiated the ceremony, where the couple exchanged self-written vows.
Pepin wore a Justin Alexander gown and later changed into a second Justin Alexander dress for the reception. The reception showcased a blend of traditional Puerto Rican music, and the newlyweds’ first dance featured Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is,” reminiscent of the ’80s-themed prom they attended together on Bachelor in Paradise.
Sammie Cockerham, a live wedding painter, created artwork of the couple during the event, while guests indulged in a delectable chocolate cake with dulce de leche filling from local Puerto Rican baker Keik by Andrea. The weekend festivities included a rehearsal dinner, a welcome reception, and a stay at Hyatt Vacation Club Hacienda Del Mar, Dorado.
Pepin also hosted a bridesmaids brunch, showcasing her DIY skills with floral arrangements guided by Flower Moxie.Despite having no immediate honeymoon plans, the couple looks forward to a potential European cruise next year.
Pepin expressed her joy in finding the right person and emphasized that the essence of marriage is the lifelong companionship.
For Braasch, marriage was a surprise, and he appreciates the alignment of stars that brought them together. Looking ahead, the couple envisions exciting possibilities, with the potential of starting a business together. The reality TV stars, having already experienced living together for a significant period, are optimistic about their future.
As Pepin aptly puts it, “The important part is actually finding a person that you want to spend the rest of your life with,” and for them, that person is each other.
