Kim Kardashian revealed a well-kept secret this week on The Kardashians: a subtle tattoo on the inside of her lower lip. This was a startling revelation. This is a significant shift from her prior position on tattoos, when she famously said, “Honey, would you put a bumper sticker on a Bentley?” in 2009, expressing her dislike of body art.
The startling disclosure dates back to October 2021, not long after Kim concluded her Saturday Night Live hosting duties. Kim chose to get a little infinity symbol tattooed inside her lower lip while celebrating with pals, including Pete Davidson, whom she subsequently dated until August 2022. She revealed the information to her longtime hairstylist Chris Appleton as they were talking about his Vegas wedding to Lukas Gage.
Chris recommended getting a little toe tattoo while thinking about having matching tattoos for the occasion, but Kim rejected the notion, citing her dislike of foot tattoos. ‘Yeah, you guys, something you don’t know about me,’ Kim revealed the secret tattoo in response to Chris pointing to his lip.
Kim recounted the spontaneous choice, saying, “My friends and I got matching tattoos on our hands the night I hosted Saturday Night Live.” I said, “I’m going to get a tattoo if there’s not a shot,” as flashback video of the tattooing procedure played.
‘Oh, this is nothing,’ Kim said, squeezing her hands, downplaying the discomfort during the application. Her 2009 comment, “I finally put a bumper sticker on a Bentley,” was comically brought up as the camera captured her flipping the ‘bird’ during the tattoo process.
Kim joked that she occasionally sees black while cleaning her teeth and wonders, “What’s this black line?” to highlight how infrequently she even notices the tattoo. I’ll then realize that it’s my tattoo.
High-profile attendees included Paris Hilton and Kathy Hilton at the dinner Kris Jenner hosted for her cleaning product brand Safely at the start of the program. Thanking everyone, Kris disclosed that the dinner was held at Emma Grede’s residence, who is her co-founder of the business that was founded in March 2021.
